A little about me…

I’m a North Carolina girl with a degree in Interior Design. I spent the last 25 years of my life in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, but now I’m living in the Troutman area with my husband and daughter.

I grew up watching This Old House and other home improvement shows, back in the days before HGTV and DIY Network. The transformations always fascinated me, taking outdated or impractical spaces and creating something new. Years later, I attended Western Carolina University in order to get my BS in Interior Design. After graduation, I was offered a job at Precision Cabinets in my hometown of Boone, NC, where I worked for more than 14 years.

Cabinetry really helped me to hone my space planning skills. A beautiful kitchen is worthless if it doesn’t function well. Kitchens and bathrooms have a unique set of requirements. I love the challenge of making all the parts fit into a space that looks great and works as it should. It can feel like a puzzle sometimes, but I love watching the pieces fall into place.

My design style is what I would call clean and cozy. I’m not a big fan of clutter, which can be challenging with kids. I like timeless looks and classic details. My house was built in 1947 and features a huge front porch and hardwood floors. I know, however, that not everyone shares my taste. I believe that a good designer should be able to work within her client’s tastes to create spaces that they will love. At the end of the day, it’s my client’s home, and it needs to suit their style.

I would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your design needs. Let me help you make your house a home!
